In about 1974, Noel Frith was demonstrating speed painting at the Penrith Plasa Shopping Center.
I was the day time cleaner at the center at the time.
I watched Noel and could not work out how he could get the brush to unload the paint exactly as he wished.
And then he painted a small cabin and it didn’t look so good. He picked up a bigger brush and painted a bush over the cabin.
I then saw that Noel was making each scene up as he went, leaving the good bits and replacing the bad bits.
After thinking about what I had just realized I bought my first oil painting supplies and have painted Australian landscapes ever since.
